Overview
Four independent bedrooms separated by a pond from the main house guarantee both privacy and the option of mixing and mingling. Perfectly suited for families, groups, health and corporate retreats. We welcome well behaved pets.
The space
BUILT NATURALLY and HEALTH CONSCIOUS
The sanctuary is built with natural and traditional materials that allow the walls to breathe, and maintain an environment free of artificial pollutants. In cold season, it has underfloor heating in all spaces including bathrooms, making barefoot highly enjoyable and in hot weather, the radiant ceiling system and cross ventilations cool the spaces. Energetic balancing is provided throughout all spaces via a special device.
FLOW of SPACES
It is designed with a harmonious integration of internal and external spaces, giving privacy to its guests, with various corners where they can retreat and enjoy the panoramic views and different environments. The main pond with its water garden also functions as a natural pool. The roofgarden offers spectacular 360 views, wide open spaces for receptions, exercise, meditation etc. The orchards of herbs, spices and berries are used for fresh and organic food.
SPA MODULES
A more private area of the rooftop offers a hot tub right at the edge of the roof overlooking the Botanical Gardens and a secluded section for receiving massages. Steam bench modules are situated on a lower terrace, again with extensive views of the Gardens. A glass pavilion housing an infrared sauna is nestled in between various garden areas and has views of the central patio and mountains in the distance. You will be soaking, sweating, translucinating and getting massaged while letting your mind wander off into distance…
ROOMS
The rooms have terraces and small gardens providing privacy and tranquility surrounded by nature.
The decor is of a luxurious standard with minimalist fine wood furnishings. The floors are light oak Scandinavian style. All rooms are bright and spacious; the two studios have two double beds and the two master suites each a king size bed. The Bathrooms from their walk in showers have direct access to the private gardens and all bathroom walls are finished in an estetically pleasing Moroccan lime tadelakt plaster.
The shared main area of the house consists of: a large room open to the pond and patio where you can socialize or retreat with a book, dining room and open kitchen, all finished in exotic Nogal and Katalox woods.
Guest access
The neighbourhood is a 10min walk from the main square in the quiet, affluent and esthetically pleasing hills above San Miguel, best known for its Natural Reserve of the Botanical Gardens and populated by a friendly mix of Expats and Mexicans. Car parking on the streets in this sparsely populated area is always available and never poses a security risk.
Other things to note
WHAT ELSE SHOULD YOU KNOW?
– This is a private home that is occupied all year round. The rooms have their privacy within the compound, but terraces, main house, pool, saunas will be shared with other guests.
– No parties, excessive alcohol consumption and inappropriate noise emissions are tolerated. The adjacent natural reserve and the tranquil neighbourhood community are important elements to consider.
– In winter and colder seasons floor heating provides sufficient heat, the wood fireplace with the firewood in the entrance can also be activated anytime. Gas outlets in all rooms permit additional heating should it be necessary.
– Cuna del Cielo has an herb and fruit gardens from which one can harvest.
